MEDICARE AND INSURANCE INFORMATION
Medicare Law provides partial reimbursement for Breast Forms and Surgical Bras within established limitations.
Most major medical insurance policies cover Mastectomy Products within established limitations.
You are entitled to Medicare reimbursement regardless of when you had your surgery-whether it be recently or years ago.
Federal Law requires that the vendor file your Medicare reimbursement claim form.
If Medicare is NOT your primary provider, you MUST first file with your primary provider/insurer. Upon receiving payment of your claim, you may choose to submit a
secondary claim to Medicare.
Always check with the vendor you select and your insurance company to be sure.
The Rhode Island Breast Cancer Coalition, a statewide advocacy organization, provides prostheses for women who are uninsured. They are located at:
